Stephane Veilleux was drafted in 2003 and developed into a solid defender and agitator for the Wild. He was a prolific scorer in juniors, but as a pro he has found a specialty role better suited to his ability. Under the influence of teammates like Wes Walz, he became a valuable penalty killer and pest during his six seasons in St. Paul. After posting career highs of 13 goals and 23 points in 2008-09, he signed as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Following that, he spent a year playing in Switzerland. He came back to North America this season and attended camp with the New Jersey Devils. He is starting the season with their AHL affiliate in Albany.
