On the same day that I received a return from Marco Scandella and wrote of the Wild's young blue line, I received a return that I sent last season to Marek Zidlicky. While it's true that the play of the young Wild defenders has been a major factor in their early success this year, the team is still dead last in the league in defenseman scoring. If they are going to make serious playoff noise, they need a healthy and productive Zidlicky. He for all his defensive deficiencies, he is still the most talented and experienced offensive player on the unit. He has dealt with injuries all season and is still looking for his first goal of the year. A strong second half from him will go a long way in determining the Wild's playoff position.
