Grand Rapids, Minnesota's Kelly Fairchild has a historic college career for the Wisconsin Badgers, culminating in an All-WCHA junior season in which he led the league in scoring and finished second in the vote for the Hobey Baker Award. He went pro the next year, but never did get much of a shot in the NHL. He spent most of the rest of the '90s in the IHL and AHL, then spent most of the 2000s in Europe before finally retiring after the 2009 season.
