As the seldom-seen bench coach for the duration of Ron Gardenhire's tenure as Twins manager, Steve Liddle has been the most anonymous member of the field staff for the last decade. That will likely change in 2011. He has traded jobs with Scott Ullger, and is taking over as the Twins' new third base coach. It's a nice story for a man who first came to the Twins organization in a 1987 minor league trade for one-time prospect Stan Holmes. Plugged in Twins fans have been pretty critical of Ullger since he replaced Al Newman at third a few years back, so it will be interesting to see how Liddle is received. He's always been here, but get to know Steve Liddle for real, Twins fans!
