Notes:
A talented goaltender for three different clubs in the '80s and early '90s, Malarchuk is unfortunately best known for nearly dying on ice when his throat was accidentally cut by a teammate's skate during a 1989 game.  It's a pretty gruesome sight that you can probably find on youtube, but it's not recommended for the faint of heart.  Malarchuk has made a nice second career for himself as a goaltending coach, currently working wonders with talented young Atlanta Thrashers star Ondrej Pavelec.
