Notes:
Andrew MacDonald emerged as a leader and a top defenseman during his sophomore season with the Islanders in 2010-11.  He played a boatload of ice time, played on both the power play and the penalty kill, and finished at +9 with 27 points (4 goals, 23 assists).  He certainly looked to be a long-term fixture on this talented young Isles squad.  Things have not gone as smoothly so far this season, as he has just three points through his first 27 games.  Much of his dip in production is due to the return of captain Mark Streit, who missed the entire year last year, and the addition of veteran Steve Staios to the defensive corps.  I like what I saw out of MacDonald last year, and still like his future on the island.
